This study examined the relationship between collectivism and suicidal ideation among elderly living in a community. Questionnaires from 315 elderly people aged 60 years and older of age were used for analysis. Average collectivism was 3.56 points and average suicidal ideation was 1.83 points among the elderly. Females had a higher level of collectivism than males. Among the elderly who had higher suicidal ideation were atheists, residents in rural areas, those reporting a ‘normal’ or ‘insufficient’ income and a ‘normal’ or ‘bad’ health status. Results also showed that suicidal ideation decreased among the elderly as collectivism increased. Keywords

Childbirth can serve as a turning point in life requiring appropriate support, and also a new opportunity of development for the family as well as the couple experiencing childbirth. In this research, required are intervention methods enabling holistic nursing care based on comprehensive understanding of women in their 30s on their first childbirth experience and the meaning of it. To accomplish this, the research used qualitative research method as a holistic approach of human being to provide bases for effective nursing intervention by identifying the meaning of first-childbirth experience, and revealing the semantic structure. According to the criterion, the research selected women who understood the research purposes and accepted the participation, out of women who gave a first childbirth in their 30s. The number of research participants is reached when no further content comes out in interviewing, namely, repetitive statements on a phenomenon. The data were collected from January 2013 to October 2014 by using an unstructured, open-ended questionnaire, and administering face-to-face interview with participants. Women going through their first pregnancy in their 30s had anxiety and pressure during pregnant period due to late pregnancy, living a life with carefulness for their behavior and eating habit throughout their pregnancy. Further, they were very sensitive to change in the fetus during prenatal tests in hospital, and took health food such as nutrient supplements on account of late pregnancy. Nonetheless, they were unsatisfied with their changed body resulting from pregnancy, and got pressure on economic, supportive, and social relationship related to child-rearing after childbirth. Therefore, in-depth understanding of pregnancy and childbirth experience through delivery process will contribute to extensive nursing knowledge system, and analyzed and identified pregnancy and childbirth experience of women in their 30s will be a proper foundation of nursing intervention. Keywords

As a result of analysis, the fatigue of nurses had a positive correlation with the job burnout (p < 0.001), but had a negative correlation with the patient safety management activities (p < 0.001). In addition, the job burnout had a negative correlation with the patient safety management activities (p < 0.001). Category 1 had explanatory power of 31.07% followed by 7.95% for category 2 and 6.18% for category 3. As for correlation in each category, .493 was derived between category 1 and category 2 followed by .640 between category 1 and category 2 and .490 between category 2 and category 3. Background/Objectives: The nurses have the role conflicts by the attitude, role execution and others perceptions regardless of their own perception. Methods/Statistical Analysis: This study does not intervene the researcher's own perspective. It uses Q-methodology that allows for both quantitative and qualitative analysis of subjective characters that are perceived by subjects to identify the subjective meaning of nursing. In doing so, the study expects to promote better understanding of the concept of nursing and provide a basic set of data to conduct quality nursing. Findings: The result led to four category types. Each Q-type formed a category with people who shared a similar awareness or perception and idea of euthanasia. Each category type reflects the subjectivity of the students on the topic of euthanasia, allowing for the description and understanding of the types. Applications/Improvements: This study suggests that more various approaches to nursing education and clinical practice must be offered that are in accordance with the meaning of nursing as perceived by nursing students. Keywords
